Call the fashion police! My girls are headed for either fashion diva's or fashion disasters! They got themselves dressed this morning and this is how they came out. Mattie looks like she has a russian hat on. I thank God my kids are not only cute, but have such fun personalities! No boring kids in my house!!! :)

Mattie, Whitney and Sophie! Whitney is one of Sophie's favorite people in the whole world! She is a few years older, but they all play pretty great together. This is all of them showing me their silly face!

Summer is in effect! Our pool is miraculously clean and boy are we enjoying it! Especially this week when the temperature has been about 100 for 2 or 3 days. Sophie and Mattie and getting more brave every day as we spend time in the pool. Auntie Leah came over and took the girls in for a dip. She is a great Auntie!

So, Tammie requested to see pictures from our trip. I was a bit leary to put anymore on, fearful that I have bored my readers (and fans! :) ) from my vacation stories, but she reassured me that atleast she has not reached that point. These will probably be the last pictures I post about the vacation, so get a good look! :) Matthew and I rented a golf cart for the day on our first day there (hence the lack of sun), which we highly recommend over the moped, just for safety sake. People drive like maniacs there. I am so surprised we never witnessed any accidents! Anyways, it was a fun way for us to view the island we were on. But the dumb cart wouldn't go above 15 miles an hour, if that, so we were passed by everyone and their mexican dog. We drove past huge, beutiful vacation homes and through the poor part where people lived literally in card board huts and little tents. It was like a little refugee village. So sad. Anyways, enjoy the pictures.

Me, sitting in the outdoor bar/restaurant. I was in much pain at this time due to nothing else by my stupidity! :) Oh...I can still feel that pain even now, when I look at this.

Off in the distance is the real Cancun. We were on an island just off of it. The water was like this gorgeous turqoise.

A view from the front of our room. That rickety old bridge was the only thing that connected us to this little island. We were at a place called North Point on the Isla Mujeres (just a 30 minute ferry ride directly across from Cancun!) It was so beautiful, pictures cannot do it justice. Don't expect to see a lot of pictures of Matthew and I...we were in bathing suits and didn't know anyone there! :) A lot of our pictures are close to sunset because that was the only time we went out and did stuff, otherwise we lounged around the pool or beach all day! What a life!

A view from our room in the evening. This is the backside of the hotel. The buildings you see in the far left are time shares for this resort. The gazebo there is where Matthew and I thouroughly enjoyed a double massage. Aaaahhhhh....paradise!

This is a great picture, shows you just how beautiful the place is and how close to the ocean we were. I mean, this hotel is about 330 degrees surrounded by the Carribean!

Mattew and I at the pool! Most days we were on the beach (just a few yards away), but Matthew actually enjoyed the pool better. He is never been one for getting to dirty. Just behind him is a pool bar where you could sit in the water on a stool and order a fruity drink! Yummm!!!

This is a picture of the hotel we stayed in. The rooms weren't anything to brag about, but we also didn't spend a whole lot of time in them. The rest of the place was tropical and perfect. Go to the top windows, second one from the right was where we were, best views ever!!!

So, we got home Saturday night. We took a detour a few days to The Dalles, Oregon to see Matthew's grandparents. We had a nice time there. I got to see my best childhood friend, that is always fun! Anyways, I am in recovery still from my severe sun burn from our vacation. I look as if I have leprosy (sp?), or atleast what I would imagine it looking like. It is pretty gross. I have NEVER been one to peel my skin of by pinching a little piece and then pulling it. Some people revel in that, trying to get the biggest chunk of skin they can. There are even those who like to peel other people's skin. For the record (and I know some of you love to do those things), I think that is so gross! :) So, I just have to let time run its coarse along with a lot of rubbing my skin off. So, here is proof of me doing the topless thing in Cancun! That is what you are supposed to do right!?! So are you a peel or do you rub?

Our last day is today, 5 nights/6 days has been a perfect stay in this beautiful place. We are ready to get home and see our girls. It truly has been amazing just how this place makes you forget the real world! I am really red in this picture, it has subsided a bit, but the peeling has already begun. (SPF 6 does not work!) Will post more when we get home! Adios!

| Well, we are here...in Cancun!!!! It is hot, beautiful beyond description, and so far we have had an incredible time. And it has only been one day!!! I saw the most beautiful sunset I have ever seen last night when we arrived. We stopped in an internet cafe´to check our email, and I had to stop and do a quick post. Pictures to come, when we get home. So now, you can go, and repent for the envy you are feeling towards me right now! :) Hasta Luego!!! |
