So, what are you waiting for? Our guest room to be redone? Well, wait no more my friends! It is finished! Thanks to a husband who "Gets the job done!" I now have my beautiful guest room ready for any of my friends who are passing by or coming for a visit to stay the night in. So no excuses already, book your night (or two) at the Schlesinger Bed-n-Breakfast! (I must warn you, breakfast is cold cereal) :)

Just for fun, I thought I would show you a before and after picture from before we moved in! It was a little boys room before we moved in. His family are good friends of ours. When they come over, he still goes back and checks on his room to see if it is still "his". He will be sorely disappointed next time! Sorry Conner!

Thanksgiving! What a wonderful holiday. This year I got the privilage of hosting it at my home with my in-laws! I got to make the turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing and gravey! I have done all of this once before, before I got married that is, so the pressure was on to not out-do my "very-good-cook" mother-in-law, but to atleast make it a decent meal and not humiliate myself. So, I think I succeeded. Everything turned out WAY BETTER than I had anticipated. I am especially proud of my turkey, in which I roasted up-side-down. It is not the greatest for displaying, but we sure liked how juicy our white meat was! Anyways, here is a picture of my beautifully set table with my china that has been used twice, and some other fun pictures of our Thanksgiving day! Enjoy!

On totally unrelated business with thanksgiving, we attempted to put Mattie on the toilet today for the first time. Sophie's first time she screamed bloody murder, Mattie had no problems with it. The only problem is that she didn't realize she was supposed to pee pee in it! Instead, she got off, went into our guest bedroom, squatted and peed on the floor! Question: How does a human being peeing on the carpet become so cute and memorable!?!

Did you know???

That in Marion, Oregon, ministers are forbidden from eating onions or garlic before giving a sermon.

And that in Washington, it is illegal to pretend one's parents are rich.

And for Tamara, over in Hawaii, it is illegal to appear in public wearing only swimming trunks.

I just thought you all might want to know, so in case you are really working hard at obeying all the laws of the land, you wouldn't want to get caught doing either of these!

See, blogs aren't just for staying in touch, they are for passing along important and crucial information as well. You may want to copy and paste this and start one of those bulk email's that everyone sends out, it might save lives!!! :)

I rarely, if ever have posted anything controversial, but I am about to! So get ready!

I have been looking at different "friends" sites, like blogger, msn spaces, "my space", and friendster just to see what is out there and the difference. And I have to say that I am so glad that I fell upon Blogger first! My Space sure has a HUGE following of GL grads, where Blogger has the "MC" grads! I wonder why that is? I will say this about My Space and why I don't like it. ALthough I am glad that there is something, like Blogger, that is keeping people in touch, what I do not appreciate is the ad's that they have displayed on their pages. It might as well be pornography, and you can't avoid them, they are all over. I hate that kind of stuff, and for that reason I am not a MY SPACE fan. I did sign up so that I can view some people's spaces as a youth pastor, but I am going to only support a site like blogger who does not inindate(sp?) us with breast and bra shots every second on my own page! So, if you are a My Space user, I hope you don't get offended, but it is good to consider what people are having to look at when they go to your 'space'. How is that for ruffling some feathers and being controversial!! :)

If you haven't noticed, I restructured my blog links. I now have two categories! One filled with active blogs, and regretfully the shameful abandoned blogs. I am glad to say that two of the once abandoned blog's just got reactivated and updated, so I am excited about that! (see Jeremy's and Matt & Nichole's), but I must say that there are a few of you that are within DAYS of being moved to the Abandoned blog status. So if you are reading this (tammie) and have not updated your blog (tammie) than I suggest you do (tammie) so that you don't get bumped to the blog of shame section!!!! :)

So this is my lame way of trying to rectify a wrong that I have done. It is one of the biggest wrongs you can do to a family member, especially a sister. Yes, I did, I FORGOT my sister's birthday. (I am hearing the gasps all over the nation!) It was Corrina's 32nd birthday yesterday (Nov. 14) and I completely forgot. And not only that, I was talking to my mom and she said that Corrina and Justin just got in (they live in Vancouver, WA and my parents live in Maple Valley, WA) so I was like, "oh, that's nice". I didn't even think to ask why they were there. So my mom subtly says, "Do you want to talk to Corrina?" and me being the sensitive, thoughtful sister that I am said, "No, just tell her I love her." So my mom yells to Corrina, "Sabrina says she loves you!" and I hear with laughter Corrina saying, "Tell her I love her too." Can I be any more lame! Anyways, here is to one WONDERFUL sister. I love you so much. Happy Birthday! I am grateful for where the Lord has brought our relationship to where it is today. I can honestly say that I feel closer to you today than I ever have growing up with you. You are so dear to me and I am so proud of all the accomplishments you have made. You are awesome! (okay, let the Sabrina roast begin.)

I have finally taken the plunge! No...I am not applying to be on next season's reality tv show, I am just beginning to take seriously the effort to lose some weight. I have to admit that I have fought the battle in the mind over and over again. And although I may not be on as strict a diet as some, I am finally making steps towards losing my extra baby weight. A friend and I have begun walking two times a week, which is a big deal to me b/c I frankly hate to excercise. The nice thing about having a walking partner is that it forces me to do it. Every morning I am supposed to get up and walk I try to think of excuses to get out of it, but the thought of her not getting to go b/c I didn't go pushes me to be consistent and get up. I am also taking some actions in my food. No...I am NOT eating vegetables and salads! :) I am not THAT desperate! :) But I am cutting things out like soda and fried foods and really holding back on sweets. So, all that to say, I think I have beaten the battle in my mind to be lazy and apathetic towards my health and weight loss and have finally taken action. And it feels great to be doing something. My goal is to lose 20 pounds. Really! I have put on that much extra weight. I am not proud of it but it is my reality right now that I must deal with and face. So, I will keep you posted as to my progress. I think I need to buy a scale so that I can actually keep track! Wish me luck!

How cool is this!!! I made the Roseburg paper! They did an article on 6 local bloggers, and I got to be one of them!!! I never thought that my blog would get this kind of attention, although I am not rejecting the attention by any means! Anyways, I hope that it gets more people blogging.

Happy Anniversary Matthew! Today we have been married 5 years. And it has been a great adventure. Marriage is wonderful, but even more wonderful is being married to the RIGHT person and waiting for the RIGHT one. I am so glad I waited for you Matthew, I am so grateful that God brought you into my life and put us together. I am so grateful for you being my best friend, the one that I share everything with and feel safe and secure with. The last 5 years have not been without struggle, I think we would be pretty boring if we didn't have struggles, but every day is one I cherish with you. You are and forever will be my dream come true.
