We're back!!! Well, we have been back for about a week! We took the family to California. We visited Sea World, Disneyland, and California Adventure. We had so much fun! My mom and dad, Matthew's mom and dad, Corrina, Aaron and Steven all got to go with us. We missed Mindie and Leah not being with us though. We built lots of memories and had tons of fun and I am ready to go back again!!! We drove down, which wasn't as bad as we had expected, so it was really enjoyable. It took us about 13 hours to drive there from Roseburg. Not too bad. :) Anyways, enjoy the pictures, I posted lots of them. And congratulations to all of you who had babies recently. They are all so beautiful and adorable!!! Yeah for babies!

So I am doing picture overload since I have had an absence of pictures in the last few months. :) Summer went by way too fast, but it was filled with great memories. Sophie is in 1st grade now and loving it. I am still working two days a week at the church. Mattie is 4 and can't wait to go to school. Lily is almost 19 months. Where does the time go? She wins everyone's heart when they meet her. Here are some pictures from August! I realized going over the pictures how much fun we had in August. From going to The Dalles and being with Auntie Leah, to a visit at Multnomah Falls (one of my favorite placed in the world), to days in our pool, a trip to Bandon, Oregon and the petting zoo, a Mariner's game with Matthew and my dad. So many great memories. I am a blessed person. I LOVE my life.

I love summer. And I love summer nights where you throw on the sprinkler and let the kids play in the yard while you sit back and enjoy the children God has blessed you with. I think all three of my kids are at an age where I just don't want them to get any older. If they can they just stay this age forever....it would be lovely. Lily has really enjoyed the sprinkler. She doesn't seem to mind the water in her face at all, in fact she thinks the sprinkler is an extra big water fountain just for her!

Well, we are back from Los Cabos!!! We have been back for about 1 1/2 weeks and ready to go back! This was by far the best vacation we have been on. We loved it so much and we absolutely loved going with Matt and Mel. What a joy to spend a week with great friends in a place like that. We certainly have lifelong memories from the trip that I will cherish forever. (and the crowd says "aaaahhhhh") :) Here are just some of the pictures from our trip. Too many stories to get into them all, it would take a long time to type them out. Anyways, we give two thumbs up to Cabo!!!! Did you know that it only rains 4 days a year there!

Haven't been there before, but it looks beautiful and Matthew and I will be going with the Herrera's, so we are pretty excited about that as well. The Stratton's went bowling! And it was so much fun. We all got together...My mom and dad, Corrina and Aaron, Mindie & her boyfriend Justin, Steve :), and Matthew and I and the girls. What a blast to all be together again. We were celebrating Mindie's birthday, but halfway through, Corrina had Steven get into a Barney costume she had rented and make an appearance for Mattie who has lately been obsessed with Barney, and I have no idea why. We don't even watch the show???!!! Anyways, Corrina a few weeks ago, told Mattie that Barney is her neighbor and that she could meet him when we came up. So, she made Mattie's dream come true and I know it will be unforgettable for Mattie and Sophie...and another little girl who was bowling a few lanes away who kept coming over for one more hug from Barney. It was all so stinking cute. I love my family.

Haircut time! Sophie's hair, as beautiful as it is long, takes about 20 minutes to brush after bath time. It is so irritating. So, we got hers chopped off, and now it is only taking me like 3 minutes! Every minute counts...right! :)

This is my last 4 days in a nutshell! Poor thing. And every day I think, "she is getting better" and then a projectile vomit happens. In the last 4 days I have been thrown up on three times and I have lost count of how many times I have got pooped on. But I feel worse for my little Lily who's bottom was so raw yesterday that it started to bleed. It looks 75% better today though. I don't know of many things more helpless then when your child is sick and there isn't anything you can do about it except wait it out and stay up all night holding them. I have a friend who's kids were sick like this and she said they puked for 5 days, so hopefully and prayerfully we are on our last day. We just got out of the mini-van tonight and walked in the house...like 45 seconds had past and she puked on the floor and all over herself. So I picked her up and was taking her to the bathtub and she puked again. But this time, since it was coming from a higher elevation, the puke splattered a good 5 feet, hitting Matthew, Mattie, Sophie and mommy all in one shot! You just have to laugh or else you will just cry from sleep deprevation. So, my big asperations for tomorrow, Easter, is that it will be a puke free day! Keep your fingers crossed!

Canon Beach! I love this place. And in the middle of March it is hit or miss for good weather. Thankfully we had a beautiful day on the beach. It was supposed to rain, I am so glad it didn't! We have our pastors retreat with our organization (Grace International) at this great retreat center in Canon Beach every year. I love going, even if I don't get to be a part of the meetings, I love getting away and walking around this great oceanside town. These are a few pictures of one day there. The picture of the lady in the white coat with the baby is Jeremy Carmichaels wife, Shekina, and their newest addition, Rosamand (I am sure I am butchering the spelling). Seeing and spendnig time with Jeremy and Shekina are just another reason we love going to Canon Beach. What a great family they have, and we love them! The last picture is what Matthew and Lily were doing while myself and the older girls went out on the beach. Lily is spread eagle out! And she was snoring, it was so cute. Enjoy!

So you will have to excuse my motherly rantings! I am just sitting at home, as all of my girls are playing rather quietly and reflecting on just how much I love them and how each of them are so incredibly special and unique to me. Anyways, these first photos of the girls cracks me up. There is a story behind all of it! So, I LOVE watching America's Next Top Model, and yes, the girls have been known to sit and watch a few episodes with me. I can hear all the gasps around blog land now! :) It opened up some good dialogue for me to have with them aboout these girls, but in the end, Matthew and I decided, maybe not the best show for them to be watching. lol. So anyways, I was taking pictures of them a few days ago and they started to be my little "top models". So these are the results of their first "photo shoot". As you can see, Sophie is kind of a natural at it, Mattie on the other hand may need some guidance. Especially the armpit picture. ha ha! Fun memories.

Snow days in Roseburg!!! To our surprise, we got lots of snow this last weekend. Well, it is a lot compared to what I have seen it snow in the last seven years! We had atleast 4 inches at our house, others had almost a foot of snow nearby our town! The girls and myself went out to play and we had so much fun. What is it about snow that brings out such joy and excitement in children? My girls couldn't stop oohing and ahhing the entire way home from church. So, enjoy a few pictures of our play day in our front yard. For some reason, Mattie's hat really squished her eyes down, so she doesn't quite look like "Mattie". :) lol

Our annual picture with Santa! I just love it. There are two here, one is this year (obviously with all three of the girls, Sophie, Mattie and Lily screaming bloody murder), and the other is two years ago with Sophie and Mattie screaming bloody murder. What is it about Santa that makes young toddlers freak out like that? :) Anyways, it is so fun to see the growth in my daughters every year. Well, we have had a busy month, as I am sure most of you have as well! In this last month we got to see my sister get married, we celebrated an early Christmas with my family, we have had Christmas shopping, Christmas kids songs at church (always so cute), school parties, church parties, and Lily has started taking her first steps. Just before she turned 10 months old, she took her first 4 steps, keeping in line with her sisters who all started walking in their ninth month. She is doing a little more each day. It won't be long now and she will be keeping up with her older sisters.

New days and new changes! Maybe some of you have heard and maybe you haven't about the changes that are taking place down here in Roseburg! It is all quite exciting. I won't go into the full story, because it is quite long, but at the end of the day the result has ended with Pastor Craig asking Matthew and I to step out of youth ministry and into the role of Associate Pastors. So, we are now in the process of hiring a new couple to take over our much beloved Gen Church. We are planning fazing out of the youth and fazing into Associate Pastor role by January. Although it is bitter-sweet for us, we are so excited and expectant for this new chapter in our lives and what God teaches us through it. The following picture is of Matthew in Houston at our Annual Convention with our church orginization. He has been a liscensed Pastor for awhile, but at this convention, he was officially "ordained" with the laying on of hands by our President and leaders. I am so proud of the man of God that he is and has become and continues to be. I love you. Oh yeah, and yesterday was our 7 year anniversary, and a wonderful 7 years it has been! God is good.

First Field Trip

Our first field trip has officially come and gone! What fun! Sophie's Kindergarden class took a bus ride to Kruse Farms to pick out a pumpkin in their pumpkin patch and go through the cornstalk maze! Matthew and I went and I had so much fun watching Sophie interact with her classmates. The cutest part was the night before Sophie said, "Tomorrow is going to be the best day of my life!" It wasn't because she was going to Kruse Farms or because she was going to get to go through a really cool maze, it was simply because she was getting to ride on the big yellow school bus for the first time. She still thinks that was the best part of her day yesterday! So cute!

The picture with the little blonde girl is her good school friend, Jessica. Her and Jessica have gotten into a little trouble at school because they like to talk to each other during classtime. :) What a joy watching her grow up so fast.

I am not quite sure where my girls get this from? I did start doing this excercise video a NUMBER of months ago, and regretfully have not picked it up in atleast 6 months. But they continue to throw it in every once in awhile and get in a good workout. I just love watching these two. My life is filled with so much joy!

8 MONTHS OLD!!! (Well, in two days, the 12th) I can't believe she is 8 months old. Wow! Matthew and I werent' sure if she would follow suit with her two older sisters and be walking in her 9th month, but then a few weeks ago Lily started standing and walking along the couch. Sooooo....now I will be surprised if she DOESN'T follow suit. My brother Steve made her this onesie! And if you know our story, it is 100% true! :) So this picture is for you Uncle Steven! We had our first slumber party! What fun it was. We made a music video, had a pillow fight, ate pizza, watched a movie with popcorn, and danced! Matthew even boogied a bit! :) In the midst of it all, Sophie looked up at me and said, "Mom, this is the best day ever!" There is something so wonderful about seeing pure joy and bliss in your children. It brought back memories of slumber parties I have had. Big day for the Schlesinger's! We had our first day of school this last Thursday. Yep, Sophie is an official kindergardner! (sp?) The whole family walked her to school (we only live one block from school, we can see it our our front door), and took her in. She was very excited the entire walk up until about 10 feet from the classroom door she got a look of fright and said, "Mommy, I don't want to go to school!" Well, since I am not an enabling mom :) I walked her into class and we found her seat and after about 30 seconds, she was back to normal and doing fine without me. The only problem was, I wasn't quite ready for her to be "fine without me". So I lingered in her room for a few moments, just like the rest of the parents who awkwardly stood around taking pictures of their child and wiping tears away from there eyes so that their child didn't see. So, then there was nothing else for me to do but leave. What a weird feeling. I don't know if there is anything that can prepare a mother for this day. Maybe daycare or preschool, which I haven't done either, so to leave my daughter for 2 hours and 40 minutes in a school with a great teacher, but someone I hardly know, was a bit tramatic....for me...not for Sophie. When I picked her up from school, she was exstatic and told me just how much she LOVED school and that she wanted to go back. Her main complaint was that the bathrooms did not look like Red Robin's bathrooms, that is, they didn't look cool and have "silver" all around. So now we begin our 17+ years that we will be in the school system. I am looking forward to it really. I don't get to be in "the world" all that much working at the church and being a full-time mom on top of that, so this will be my outlet to impact those around me with the Christ in me! :)

Well, look who got engaged this last week!!! Corrina and Aaron got engaged this last Thursday evening and then came down to Roseburg for the weekend. We had a great time! We went to Wildlife Safari, which was an experience all its own!, we went out on the boat and attempted to wake board...notice the word "attempt", and just had a lot of time to just hang out with them. I am thrilled to have Aaron as a brother-in-law. He is great with Corrina, and my girls LOVE him, which is important to me. So, congratulations Corrina and Aaron. We love you and are excited for this new chapter in your life!

A few precious pictures for you all. There is one of the three of them at Auntie Corrina's place, then one of Mattie sleeping in our office. We looked in on her and she was cuddling with her bunny. She is the sweetest baby. And then there is Matthew and Sophie holding hands. This is actually a picture of us walking to her school to meet her teacher and see her classroom. Sophie starts Kindergarden next week, Thursday is her first day! I already started crying as soon as we rounded the corner and neared her classroom door. I wasn't expecting to be emotional, but on they came! Matthew and I can still remember our first day of Kindergarden, so it is so weird to be taking our daughter to school! We are about to enter an entirely different realm of parenting now.

My mom got us tickets to go see Hi-5 Live! If you have small children and haven't experienced Hi-5 yet, you are missing out. They are great, I even enjoy watching them. I think they are on the Discovery Kids channel. Anyways, we got to go see them live last Sunday up in Portland and we had a blast. Well, I did atleast. The girls were a little shy in getting up and dancing with them, but Corrina and I had no problems with it. :) Mattie especially was my shy one. And then she started playing with the chair that has the spring loaded seat, and it came back and smacked her right in the nose, causing her to jerk backwards and smack her head on the chair behind her. Needless to say, she got her first bloody nose during intermission of Hi-5 Live! It was memorable! I love great memories, even when they are slightly tragic!

Mattie has SO many expressions. It has become kind of her trademark! The other day Mattie ran in to tell on Sophie to Matthew and myself. She told us that Sophie said she had pointy eyebrows! Well, as she is telling me, she has this strained, upset look on her face, and her eyebrows WERE coming to a point. So, although this one expression isn't on this video, you will still enjoy how extreme her facial expressions get!

I just love these series of pictures. Matthew and I just got done with two weeks of summer camps. And they were a blast! Sophie and Mattie went to my parents house in Maple Valley, so we just had Lily with us. It was so much fun to give her all of our attention. I wouldn't trade having three, but those moments when you get to be single-focused, it is a precious time that as a mother of three, you cherish oh so much!

A Schlesinger tradition is to every year get a picture taken holding up how many fingers you are old. We needed some extra help for Matthew this year!

I surprised Matthew with a birthday party and it went off great! He was absolutely SHOCKED and had no idea that about 40 people were hunched down in our backyard. It was so fun to pull off, but let me tell ya, trying to keep something like that a secret is hard to do! I don't know how people keep REAL secrets, like bad ones, and keep sane. I did this in a week and a half and was constantly in a state of making sure he didn't see an email or get a phone call, deleting my history on my email so that he didn't see the evite page I had been to. It was exhausting! I have never entertained the thought of having an affair, but this just put the cherry on top as to one MORE reason why I would never attept it. Who needs that kind of stress in their life?! :) Anyways. Weird thought, I know.
